Compare CWL Net Gain by Season with ClansHQ

A single career total can tell a clan leader who has added the most value across recorded Clan War League history. It cannot show whether that performance is improving, declining, or changing from one CWL season to the next.

ClansHQ now adds Net Gain Trend to the CWL Summary table. The new view organizes each member's CWL Net Gain by season, making historical performance easier to compare without opening and calculating every league round separately.

What is CWL Net Gain?

In ClansHQ, a member's CWL Net Gain compares the new stars they earned on offense with the best opposing attacks recorded against their base on defense:

Net Gain = New Stars Earned − Best Opponent Stars Received

A positive result means the member earned more new stars than their base conceded through the recorded best opposing attacks. A negative result means the defensive total was higher than the new stars they added. A result of zero means the two values were equal.

Net Gain is useful because it puts offense and defense into one compact indicator. It should still be read alongside matchup difficulty, Town Hall level, assigned targets, missed attacks, and the number of rounds played. No single CWL statistic can explain every part of a member's performance.

See every available CWL season in one table

Open a clan dashboard, choose CWL, keep the table in Summary mode, and select Net Gain Trend from the summary view menu.

The table presents:

• Members, with the same saved Group 1 and Group 2 highlights used elsewhere in the CWL table
• Net Gain, showing the member's overall result across all CWL seasons returned for the clan
• One dated column for each available season, such as 01-08-2026
• A season-over-season change beside each comparable result

Season columns remain in the CWL history order returned by ClansHQ, with the newest season first. Each season's small change indicator compares that result with the older season immediately to its right. A green + value indicates an improvement; a red negative value indicates a decline. The oldest available season has no comparison because there is no earlier season in the table.

If a member did not participate in a season, the cell displays an em dash rather than zero. This distinction prevents missing participation from looking like a recorded neutral result. ClansHQ also omits the change indicator when either of the two seasons lacks participation.

Sort CWL members by any season

Every dated season heading is sortable. Select a season once to bring its highest Net Gain results forward, then select it again to reverse the order. The overall Net Gain and Members headings are sortable as well.

This makes several common CWL review questions faster to investigate:

• Who produced the strongest Net Gain in the latest CWL season?
• Which members improved compared with their previous recorded season?
• Did a strong all-time result come from steady performance or one exceptional season?
• Which lineup candidates have recent results worth reviewing in more detail?
• Who has no recorded participation in a particular season?

Saved member highlights continue to work in Net Gain Trend, so leaders can compare their existing lineup groups while sorting different seasons. On desktop, the Members column stays visible while the season history scrolls horizontally. Mobile keeps the table scrollable without fixing the member column, preserving more usable screen space.

Move from the trend to round-level context

Net Gain Trend is designed for pattern discovery. It complements the existing CWL views rather than replacing them.

Use Overall Summary to compare average new stars, missed attacks, total Net Gain, and attack and defense star rates across the available history. Switch to Breakdown when you need to inspect a selected season round by round, including stars, destruction percentage, and new stars obtained.

Use CWL trends as evidence, not a verdict

Season comparisons become more useful as the amount of recorded data grows, but context still matters. A member may face stronger bases, receive different assignments, change Town Hall level, or appear in fewer rounds from one league season to another. Defensive outcomes are also influenced by the opponents and attacks a base receives.

Treat Net Gain Trend as a fast route to better questions. Pair it with participation, missed attacks, detailed round results, and communication with members before changing a CWL lineup.

Search for your clan on ClansHQ, open the CWL table, and choose Net Gain Trend under Summary to compare member performance across the available Clan War League seasons.
